I'm definitely feeling you on the weather. I'm VERY eager for it to get warm again. This snowy reprise is just not welcome.

Oh, and there is a reason Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind has a Being Malkovich vibe to it. Both were written by Charlie Kaufman, the most relentless original screenwriter working. The movie is directed by a guy who directed another Kaufmann screenplay, Human Nature. Very weird film. Most critics pick it as the one Kaufmann movie they feel okay bashing, but I kinda liked it. It was unquestionably a tough to pin down kind of movie. I think I'm going to have to life my Kate Winslett boycott to see this one. Gotta love any movie called "Eternal Sunrise of the Spotless Mind".

(I shall refrain from commenting about the weather because I don't want y'all to visualize throwing things at me.)(At least you're not sneezing!) Re. "Eternal Sunshine..." Cf. Dicken's "The Haunted Man" from 1848. Interesting... http://www.jsonline.com/letsgo/daily/1129dickens.stm

Actually, the Dickens story reminds me more of the countless sitcom plots where one of the characters suffers a heart-break and wishes it gone only to learn a lesson about moving on from emotional pain. Nice to learn what the original source was. "Eternal" is clearly drawing on this idea, but knowing Kaufmann's work, I'm sure he'll jam into some very unpredictable development. Always curious to see what he does with a film.

Is that Pruney song the one that goes (ahem): "A baby prune is like his dad but he ain't got it half so bad we've got wrinkles on our faces pruney's got 'em everyplace no matter how hard a prune may try he's always getting stew....ewed!" If so, I am in total shock that there's actually another human being outside my family that sings it. If not, I've just revealed way to much about my bizarre upbringing.

Brian, Kell - I suck that I haven't replied to your comments, work has been excruciatingly busy. Did you see the movie? Did you like?

Buttonflyer, I am just shocked that I'm not the only one who knows this song!! This is how my family's version goes: "Oh, no matter how young a prune may be, he's always getting wrinkles. A baby prune's just like his dad, but he's not wrinkled half as bad. We get wrinkles on our face - pruney gets them every place! Oh, no matter how young a prune may be, he's always getting wrinkles! Wrinkles! {sung in a low voice for the last wrinkle.)

So yep, just about the same song. Wow. I can't wait to tell my mom!
