Yes! Do Nanowrimo! It will definitely get you writing if your somebody who thrives under deadline pressure. I think it has really helped me spend more time on my writing and made me feel more confident about it. And that, despite the fact that I wrote a steaming pile of turd. It's fun! But it is work too. (You need to do about 1,600 words a day to get through the month.) Anyway, I think you should do it, so we can bug each other about getting our word count done for the day.

I had a feeling you'd encourage me! My only reservation is the fear that either my social life or my sleep would suffer terribly - or both! But Jill and I were talking about it last night, she's considering doing it too - the three of us could be a support network.. :-) Now, just to come up with an idea.. do you have a plot yet?

No plot yet. I'm saving that for the month of October. Also, I should be writing now, so if I come up with anything, I'd probably write it now. Oh, and yes, both your social life and your sleep will suffer. I had to spend a whole day off writing 5,000 words to catch up last year. However, writing 1,600 words only takes an hour or so (less if you're just babbling on) so as long as you keep up every day, it's not a big deal. If you win, you get a nice little jpeg that says "2003 Nanowrimo Winner!" I didn't have a blog then, so I didn't save it. Anyway, I hope you and Jill do it.

I know you don't know me all that well, really, but... OOOOOOOO (You've got me wondering about doing the Nanowrimo, too...)

YiShun: awwww, thanks for the hug! Kell: Oooh away!! BrianO is very convincing.. I think it would be a blast to do the Nanowrimo (and it's fun to say, to boot!)

Hmmm. I'm intrigued, myself. I usually think of fiction in terms of film naratives, so I'm usually dialogue heavy. But, I did have a silly little idea for a novel. And, I'm a big believer in the idea of pushing oneself to write as a means of practice and creativity. Hmmm. Very much worth considering. 8-)
