Identity theft's a bitch, but not as bad as it could be. I got hit by malicious identity theft last year. I was signed up for one of those credit cards meant for people with horrific credit. Like, it had $300 credit limit and $180 in annual fees that were charged to the card immediantly. A card was actually mailed to me which I cut up immediantly intepreting the mailing as a credit card offer. I actually first thought the company was scamming me, but I now think it was someone from a cable company I had some trouble with. The address used was only used by my cable company, so call me suspicious. ANYWAY, I got through it okay. Just frustrating for a while. You can put a fraud watch on your credit records, which is only a minor annoyance for you. We all hear the horror stories of identity theft, but I think for most its just a temporary annoyance. Good luck getting it all settled.

Aimee, that totally sucks! But it seems like you're doing a good job of not letting it ruin your weekend. I'm sure it will all work out okay.

jsut a comment to say i wish i could fix my spelling. and identity theft sucks, but really, my concern is that 'holy park bun' is not nearly as funny as 'holy pork bun.' =)

Thanks for the commiseration!! And yes, "holy park bun" is not as fun, but there is some strange surreal appeal to "holy park bun" anyway ;-)
